Porcelain Stories: Meissen, Sèvres, Rosenthal and Richard Ginori

Many of my favorite porcelain houses - Meissen, Sèvres, Richard Ginori, Rosenthal - are products of remarkable people and their stories. As early patrons of the arts, they brought hand-painted treasures into middle-class homes on a huge scale. The artists and designers they sponsored (Gio Ponti, Walter Gropius, and Andy Warhol, to name a few) went on to fundamentally impact both the porcelain industry and modern design in general.

Buying Art Online

There are so many places to buy art online, but most of the more highly curated sites tend to be on the expensive side. While those sites are great for more advanced collectors (or more liberal credit card users) – I firmly believe that it’s possible to find exciting, original, affordable art as long as you know where to look.
